Please join me in welcoming Jin-Moo Lee, MD, PhD to the AALN as Chair of the Washington University, St. Louis Department of Neurology and the Andrew B. and Gretchen P. Jones Professor of Neurology. Before becoming Chair, Dr. Lee was the Norman J. Stupp Professor of Neurology and Chief of Cerebrovascular Disease at Washington University. Dr. Lee completed his university training at Yale, graduating with a degree in molecular biophysics, after which he entered the MD/PhD program at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, followed by a residency in Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. He then came to Washington University, completing a post-doctoral program with Dennis Choi, after which he was recruited to the faculty as a clinician-scientist in 1999. His lab has been continuously funded by the NIH for more than 20 years, and he currently holds a Javits Neuroscience Investigator Award in addition to other NIH grants. Dr. Lee is internationally recognized for his work on the cellular and molecular pathophysiology of brain injury. We are pleased to announce a new AALN Workshop: VA-University Affiliations: Collaboration in Clinical Care, Research and Education which is geared towards both Chairs and VA Directors. This new virtual program is a product of our new academic VA Chiefs’ initiative and is set for October 29th (2-4pm CT / 3-5pm EST). Sharyl Martini, MD, PhD (Houston VA Medical Center) and Glenn Graham, MD, PhD (Founder and Director, VA National TeleStroke Program) will moderate this session, which will detail the advantages of a VA affiliation for an academic neurology department, including discussion of how specific VA programs and resources can insure a mutually beneficial collaboration. Registration is complimentary but required to attend and is available on the AALN Website. |
